T’s and C’s apply, right? Nope, they don’t – the apostrophes are incorrect. Adding a plural to an acronym is quite simple – you just add an S as you would to anything else. After all, you wouldn’t write “term’s and condition’s” – and if you would, stop it at once!

It’s simple:

• Ts and Cs/Ts & Cs
• G&Ts
• CDs and DVDs
• SMMEs

A slightly tricky one is the plural SMS – which becomes SMSes – just as “mess” becomes “messes” in the plural form. But if you don’t like the way that looks, you can just say “texts”.

And then – just because this is English, – there’s an exception. If you’re talking about the distinctions you got for your final exams, for examples. I’d write “A’s” just so it doesn’t look like a capitalised version of “as”. I’ll give you that one. 😉
